JENA.AI.Live: System-One-Models – small, fast, specialized 🚀

How much AI does a good application really need?

Not every task requires a large language model that thinks for a long time. Sometimes smaller, specialized models are the better choice: faster, resource-saving, and specifically usable for certain tasks.

At our next JENA.AI.Live on October 29, 2026, we will take a closer look at so-called System-One-Models together with Prof. Dr. Oliver Mothes, Professor of Visual Computing at the Dresden University of Applied Sciences and Arts (HTWD),

Using models like Jev from TypeSafe and current Open-Weight-Models, we will examine where their strengths lie, how they differ from classical LLMs and Reasoning-Models, and what possibilities they open up for AI applications and agent systems.

The focus is on trying things out together and exchanging experiences: Which models are suitable for which tasks? What can be run locally or on one's own infrastructure? And how can fast, specialized models and powerful Reasoning-Models work together meaningfully in the future?

Bring your questions, experiences, and ideas with you. We don't just want to talk about AI, but to find out together what works in practice.
