Health data are an important basis for medical progress – at the same time, their use places high demands on data protection, security, and trust.
How can sensitive health data be used safely for research and medical applications? This question is addressed by the Annual Congress of the AVATAR-Transfer Competence Cluster on 7 October 2026 from 9:30 to 16:00 in the Volkshaus Jena.
Experts from medicine, computer science, science, and business, together with the projects KI-AIM2 and GANGES2, provide insights into current developments and concrete use cases. Topics in focus include therapy support, rehabilitation, medical technology, infection research as well as legal and societal questions of health data use.
Workshops on topics such as federated learning, compliant secondary data use, and science communication complement the program.
For the opening, Katharina Schenk, Thuringia's Minister of Social Affairs, Health, Work, and Family, is expected.
The event is organized by the InfectoGnostics Research Campus Jena and the Navimatix GmbH

Recognize opportunities. Get started now. Shape the future.
Competition is already global. To remain internationally competitive in the future, companies must exchange data securely and make their collaboration more efficient. Secure and trustworthy data spaces create the necessary foundation for this. They enable cost reductions, greater transparency, better data exchange as well as faster processes and innovation processes. At the same time, they open up new business models and revenue opportunities. Data spaces help not only to generate new revenue, but also to process orders faster and secure your own competitiveness. Currently, there are favorable to free opportunities for entry and onboarding in the Catena-X and Manufacturing-X environment. With our event, we therefore want to bring you closer to the potential of data spaces and show how your company can get started now.
